About

103.1 The River (CJFW-FM) is a country radio station based in Terrace, British Columbia, broadcasting at 103.1 FM. It first went on the air in 1983, with the call letters CJFW chosen in honor of its founder, J. Fred Weber. Over time, the station expanded its reach through transmitters in Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Sandspit, and Masset. Throughout its history, it changed ownership several times, moving from the Okanagan Skeena Group to Telemedia, then to Standard Radio, and later to Astral Media (which eventually became Bell Media). On May 28, 2019, the station was rebranded as "Pure Country 103.1." Vista Radio acquired it on April 14, 2025, and relaunched it as "103.1 The River," keeping its popular country format unchanged.

With strong local roots and the enduring appeal of country music, the station continues to unite communities across northwestern British Columbia under its refreshed brand.
