About
100.9 The Wave (CKTO-FM) is a classic hits radio station based in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, and owned by Maritime Broadcasting System. Launched in March 1965 as CKCL-FM, it was affiliated with CBC Radio until 1982. Over the years, the station has gone through several format and branding shifts—from Mix 100.9 with an adult contemporary sound to EZ Rock 100.9 in 2001. In 2021, it adopted the Bounce brand under Bell Media’s reorganization. On April 8, 2025, the station was rebranded as 100.9 The Wave, now delivering a lineup of classic hits from the 1970s and 1980s. A weekend highlight is the nostalgic American Top 40 with Casey Kasem.
With its rich history and timeless music selection, 100.9 The Wave continues to resonate with listeners, blending retro charm with a modern radio experience.
