About

89X (CIMX-FM) is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 88.7 FM from Windsor, Ontario. It is owned by Bell Media through the Bell Media Windsor Radio Partnership.

Broadcasting since July 10, 1967, the station has undergone several transformations in both style and sound. In 1991, it shifted to an alternative rock format under the name 89X, becoming a staple for fans of indie and modern rock across the Windsor–Detroit region. In November 2020, the station rebranded as Pure Country 89, focusing on country music for several years. However, on August 28, 2025, it made a long-awaited return to its rock roots, reviving the 89X brand and reconnecting with loyal listeners who grew up on its signature alternative edge.

Today, she continues to embody the pulse of contemporary rock culture in the region.
